European School is a multi-campus international school in Tbilisi offering Georgian, IB (PYP, MYP, DP) and ASAS. We are looking for an AP Seminar Teacher who enjoys big questions, strong arguments and helping students find their own academic voice.
ABOUT THE COURSE
AP Seminar is the foundation of College Board’s AP Capstone™ Diploma. Instead of a single subject, students explore real-world issues across disciplines: they analyse texts, studies, speeches and artworks, weigh competing perspectives, and turn evidence into well-argued essays and presentations, individually and in teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and teach a year-long course aligned with College Board’s Course and Exam Description and QUEST framework, with a syllabus that meets AP Course Audit requirements
Guide students through the team and individual performance tasks and prepare them for the end-of-course exam
Build students’ skills in research, source evaluation, synthesis, evidence-based argument, academic writing and presentation
Score presentation components consistently against College Board rubrics and manage submissions in the AP Digital Portfolio
Safeguard academic integrity through College Board’s interim checkpoints, including plagiarism and generative AI use
Complete required College Board training and annual scoring certification
Work closely with ASAS leadership and colleagues, and keep students and parents informed
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in English, the humanities, social sciences or a related field
Experience teaching academic writing, argumentation, research or inquiry-based courses at secondary or university level
Native or near-native English (C1–C2)
Confidence in coaching research design and presentations
American-curriculum, AP or international school experience is a strong advantage
WE OFFER
Competitive salary / benefits package
Professional growth in a multi-programme international school
A collaborative, diverse academic community
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
